Tax Payer can submit online grievance relating to CPC and efiling of Income tax Return

The facility to provide Grievance relating to the CPC is made available to the assessee in the e-Filing portal. After Login, select Helpdesk –> Submit Grievance–> CPC then from the drop down select Assessment Year, category and sub category of the grievance.

Similar facility for grievance relating to e-Filing can also be submitted. After Login, select Helpdesk–> Submit Grievance–> e-Filing then from the drop down select category, sub category, summary and description of the grievance.

Presently tax payer can submit following category of  grievances relating to CPC and efiling of Income tax Return.

ITR V:

  • Status in efiling shows “ITR – V received” but no ack received from CPC
  • Received ITR – V ack from CPC but the status in efiling does not show as ITR – V received
  • Posted signed ITR-V more than 15 days ago no ack received from CPC
  • Others

 

PROCESSING:

 

  • Once again received notice u/s 139(9) from CPC even after filing correction u/s 139(9)
  • Unable to upload corrections u/s 139(9), as communication Ref. and PIN is failing as invalid
  • AO has confirmed that there is no outstanding demand but received a notice u/s 245 from CPC
  • Claimed tax credits are appearing in Form 26AS but credits are not been allowed
  • TDS/ TCS credits are appearing in Form 26As and no data entry error, but credits are not allowed
  • Advance Tax, Self-assessment Tax credit at CPC although the credits are available in Form 26AS
  • Difference in total Income between “As Computed” and “As entered” in order, Please clarify
  • Already Paid the demand amount but CPC has sent demand notice again
  •  Others

 

REFUND:

 

  • Got the intimation order 10 days ago showing refund payable but not received the refund
  • The status of eFiling shows “Refund Determined” but not received the demand
  • Raised “Refund Reissue” request 7 days back but refund not received
  • AO verified legal heir and informed CPC but not received the refund
  • Refund status at TIN-NSDL shows as “Refund Paid” but not received refund
  • Refund payable adjusted against the outstanding demand, Please clarify on the adjustment.
  • Others

 

RECTIFICATION:

 

  • Received rectification order from CPC which is same as earlier order. Please clarify
  • TDS/TCS credits are appearing in Form 26AS and no data entry error but credits are not allowed
  • Advance Tax/ Self-assessment Tax credits not given at CPC although the credits are available in Form 26AS
  • AO has confirmed that there is no outstanding demand but received a notice u/s 245 from CPC

  • Status in eFiling is “Return processed at CPC, but not received the order
  • Raised “resend Intimation” request more than 10 days ago but not received the communication

Do I need to send the ITR-V to CPC after 120 days if not submitted earlier

Yes, you can submit the ITR-V.

 

Did you submit the ITR-V to CPC but no acknowledgement received from CPC

If you have sent the ITR-V through ordinary post to CPC then wait for 10 days for acknowledgement from CPC or If you have sent the ITR-V through Speed post to CPC then wait for 7 days for acknowledgement from CPC

If yes, Please send the signed hard copy of ITR V to CPC within 120 days of filing of the e-return

If no, please send the signed hard copy of ITR-V to CPC within 120 days of filing of return, else your return will not be taken up for processing at CPC

CPC treated my efiled return as Defective Return?

I have received a notice from CPC declaring my return as defective u/s 139(9), how do I file a Corrected return?

To know the procedure for filling a corrected return, please Go to Help tab-> Registration Services -> e-File in Response to Notice u/s139(9)

 

If I Don’t know PIN for filing the defective return

The PIN for uploading the corrected return u/s 139(9) has been provided in the notice sent by CPC. If you need a copy of this notice u/s 139(9), please contact- CPC – Customer service (18004252229).

 

Time given to file the corrected return is over, can I still file a corrected return

Yes, The corrected return can be uploaded and it will be taken up for processing at CPC as per provision of Income Tax Act.

 

Do I need to furnish only corrected information or should I file entire return with corrected details

You have to furnish all the details once again and upload complete corrected return

Refund Related Queries

 

I got a refund failure communication from CPC?

Place a refund reissue request curing the failure reason at My Account -> Refund reissue request. For queries refer Refund reissue manual under Help tab.

 

As per the intimation order there is a refund issued by CPC, However I did not get refund cehque?

Refund is sent by SBI, Mumbai, the status of which can be checked at www.tin-nsdl.in.

 

As per the intimation order, the processing has resulted in refund which has already been adjusted or paid towards the outstanding demand which is not the correct demand as per my records

The Jurisdictional Assessing Officer after due verification, will issue the adjusted refund amount for the Assessment year for which the demand is rectified.

 

As per the intimation order, the processing has resulted in a refund but the Net refund payable is Nil/ Reduced

This is due to refund getting adjusted against the outstanding demand, the details of which are available in the order.
