General Elections | Voters # 1

 The minimum age for enrollment in an electoral roll is 18 years. Till 1989, the minimum age was 21 years

  • The relevant date for determining the age qualification of 18 years is the first day of January of the year in which the electoral roll is prepared. To vote in General Elections 2014, the relevant date was 1/1/2014
  • A person cannot be enrolled as a voter in more than one place
  • A person who is not a citizen of India cannot be registered as a voter
