About Article 370

Nothing is worth it if you are not happy

History of Article 370

This temporary  provision was drafted in 1947 by Sheikh Abdullah, who had by then been appointed prime minister of Jammu & Kashmir by Maharaja Hari Singh and Jawaharlal Nehru.

About Article 370

This article grants special autonomous status to Jammu & Kashmir. All the provisions of the Constitution which are applicable to other states are not applicable to J&K. For example, till 1965, J&K had a Sadr-e-Riyasat for governor and prime minister in place of chief minister.

  • According to this article, except for defence, foreign affairs, finance and communications, Parliament needs the state government’s concurrence for applying all other laws. Thus the state’s residents live under a separate set of laws, including those related to citizenship, ownership of property, and fundamental rights, as compared to other Indians.
  • As a result of this provision, Indian citizens from other states cannot purchase land or property in Jammu & Kashmir. Under.

“Modi government is free Dynasty Politics” Media reports

I am not very sure about the definition of Dynasty politics. I think it generally refers to a family that maintains power for several generations in politics (basically refers to Gandhi family). According to me, it can also include second generation people from the family of politicians.

Is it true that BJP has picked up candidates not coming from Political family background for Union Ministry? Or whether the party has overlooked others in the party while giving posts to people coming from political family.

On the day of oath taking ceremony, in all TV discussions, the panelists were admiring Modi for not bringing in dynasty politics except for one minister, Ms.Harsimrat Kaur Badal.

While reading the profile of the ministers; I came across the following  (contrary to the claim by the media)

  1. Mr. G M Siddeshwara, MoS, Civil Aviation – His father Mr. Mallikarjunappa was a MP
  2. Mr.Darmendra Pradhan – MoS Oil and Gas – His father Mr. Dr.Debendra Pradhan was a MP
  3. Indrajit Singh Rao – MoS  – His father Mr.Rao Birendra Singh, Ex CM of Haryana
  4. Maneka Gandhi –  Women and Child Welfare – Wife of Sanjay Gandhi, Ex  MP
  5. Ashok Gajapath Raju –  Civil Aviation (cabinet) – son Pusapati Vijaya Rama Gajapati Raju, Ex MP
  6. Harsimrat Kaur Badal – MoS – Food Processing Industry, wife of Sukhbir Singh Badal, daughter-in- law of Punjab CM
  7. Piyush Goyal – MoS Power and coal – son of Ved Prakash Goyal, Ex MP and Union Minister

Last line : Mr. Sadananda Gowda, Minister of Railways is famous for his ‘EVER Smiling’ nature. Maybe, Mr. Modi is not aware of it, so he has given Mr. Gowda, the railway ministry. On the other hand, the railways is infamous for accidents. In the best interest of Mr. Gowda, he can delegate the responsibility of facing the media to his deputy during accidents!!
