I am sure you would have experienced the ‘power’ of VIP at some point in life. I am also sure that you would have cursed the VIP culture in this country. Some momentum has gathered against VIP culture in the country thanks to Mr. Kejriwal. It is he who has made a noise about VVIP culture. It is he who has pledged against VIP culture.
Taking a clue from Mr. Kejriwal, the prominent media groups such as NDTV and Times Now have started a systematic campaign against it. It is a welcome move! We, the common people of this country must support this move in one or the other way.
At a Marriage function: Apart from public places, we also find the disgusting VIP culture in weddings. Recently I had been to a wedding of a top bureaucrat’s son. As usual, there was a queue to greet the couples and I stood in the queue at about 7.30 pm. By the time I got down from the stage, it was 8.45 pm. Not because there was so many people in the queue, but because of the huge number of VIPs taking short cuts to the stage! We the common people who stood in the queue, ended up watching the tamasha.
Adding to this insult, the host arranged two separate dining areas, one for VIPs and another area for people like us – the common man!
This is when I pledged that ‘I will never attend any function hosted by VIP’ As such; the common man of this country receives second rated treatment wherever we go. Why to invite insult in private parties too!
On road experience – Fortunately, I live in South Bangalore and I rarely encounter Lal Bathi’s on the road. However, through the media I noticed the on road Tamasha of VIPs in other cities. Disgusting isn’t it? It’s through our votes that they have become VIPs and they are spending the money out of taxes paid by us. After taking vote and money, they wear the hat of VIP.
I did encounter one Lal Bathi experience during last year when I was travelling from Mysore to Bangalore. The police made us (over 2000 vehicles) wait for over 2 hours to send these princes without any trouble! Let’s pledge against VIP Culture.
Likewise in many areas, the VIP culture will eat away the ‘the right to equality’ of the constitution.
I only hope that this momentum against VIP culture continues and will find a logical conclusion. Let’s witness an India minus VIPs.
