 Laws | Act # 8| Agricultural Produce (Grading and Marking) Act of 1937 (amended in 1986)

  • Agmark is a certification mark on agriculture products produced in India. [You can see this mark on rice bags, wheat bags, etc.)
  • The certification is done through fully owned state Agmark laboratories
  • The testing includes chemical analysis, microbiological analysis, pesticide residue etc.,
  • The testing is done on  whole spices, ground spices, ghee, butter, vegetable oils, mustard oil, honey, food grains (wheat), wheat products such as atta, suji and maida, gram flour, soyabean seed, bengal gram, ginger, oil cake, essential oil, oils and fats, animal casings, meat and food products
