An end we aspire

Yes, it is a vague caption. Kindly read this article and suggest a better caption if you have one.

We all will die one day or the other. But we are not aware of the ‘expiry date’!

Let’s go through the type of deaths, its reasons and causes

Death by negligence – Speed the car and hit another vehicle or road divider and die! Visit risky places like valleys or deep rivers and die! Or even drink & drive and die. We can classify this type of death as ‘death by negligence.’

Death by the negligence of others – Three people are standing near a panipuri shop on a National Highway. A speeding truck loses its control and rams into them or a speeding bus hits from the back! We can call them as ‘victims of the situation.’

Death by fate – Even after taking all possible precautions, one meets with death. For example, a tsunami, an earthquake or an attack where one has no clue about death approaching them.

Death after coma – I know a person from Mysore who was in a coma for six months. In his last six months of life, the only thing he did was breathe and nothing else.

Death after physical inability – There was another case. An old lady was bedridden for over a year. During her last days also, she was recognizing everyone, eating and sleeping well. But immobile. You can image the state of one who has been bedridden for a year or so.

Death after chronic illness – One of my relatives is suffering from kidney failure. He requires dialysis twice a week from the last three years. His whole life is about ‘taking tablets (including dialysis) and breathing’ till the end! (Waiting to die)

Death by age – I can quote many old people who are ‘unwanted’ by their family, kith, and kin. But they have to live till the breath goes away! They are also in the state of ‘waiting to die’. They are old, can’t walk much, can’t do much work, can’t see properly, can’t hear completely, can’t eat well or digest. They will have the feeling of being a ‘burden’ to the family.

Suicide and murder– because of crop failure, high debt, low marks, breaks in relationships, big loss in business, etc. The weak minds, be it rich or poor commit suicide. Similarly, death by murder due to infidelity issues, money matters or share in the property.

Death in young age – Sudden, untimely death at a young age without any pain or illness.

Death the way most of us aspire – Going by the above list, what do we conclude? All of us aspire our journey on earth to end with the below being met:

  • At an age, neither too young (The 40s or 60s) nor too old (over late 80s).
  • Be active till the last breath (we don’t want to be a burden to anyone)
  • No major illness (not bedridden or chronic patient)
  • When everyone still loves you (Till our death people around us should like us, isn’t it?)

Can we get a death of this kind, a customized or tailor made? Yes, it is possible!

Our beloved Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam died in this manner. He was 84, active till the last minute, was not a burden to anyone and continued to inspire each one of us. All of us loved him (will continue to love and remember him) till the last minute. What a death it was! He left us as an ‘achiever in death’ also! Do you agree?
