Back to School
(This is not a promotional article of Bata Shoe Company’s latest campaign ‘Back to School)

Maybe for the first time in their life the Members of Parliament (MP) got this kind of lecture on behavioral aspects. I am sure that some of the MPs (looking at their educational background) would not have attended classes of this kind even in their school days! Headmaster Mr. Modi gave a glimpse of the style of functioning required for this country. Without wasting any more time, let’s look at what our PM has told them.

1. Stop touching the feet of senior leaders (Comment – Oh! Some of the senior leaders expect people to fall at their feet, nothing short of it is acceptable. Mr.Modi, please be sympathetic; please allow them, some of them get an opportunity to bend their body only once in a while )

2. Be well prepared before speaking in the house (Comment– not in their house; but in the House of People; The Parliament)

3. Be regular in Parliament when there is a session (Comment – Mr. Modi, you should have added ‘and don’t sleep’; half of the attendees will be asleep in the parliament; Want proof? watch LokSabha TV next time)

4. When there is no session; pack up and go to your constituency (Comment – Mr.Modi, please give them some relaxation; if you say them to pack up, when will they do shopping for their kids and family members! When will they visit TajMahal?)

5. Sign the papers only after reading (Comment – exactly, even our Morning Post tag line is about it. read first…work next)

6. Don’t sublet your official house, not even garage (Comment – means some of the MPs in the past had rented it out to beauty parlor, laundry, or a coffee shop or a Xerox centre!)

7. Instead of gossiping, read something in the library (Comment – Hello Mr. PM, please tell your MPs ‘what to read’ when you meet them next time; because some of your legislatures had watched “videos” at Karnataka Assembly. So, as a precaution be specific about ‘what to read!)

8. During the session, sit in your allotted seat and speak; don’t roam around and speak (Comment – that is true; as I have seen on TV, half of the MP’s don’t attend the session and half of those who have attended will be standing near the Parliament Well shouting slogans or holding placardslike a taxi driver at an Airport)

9. Always attend the phone calls of party workers (Comment – good; make them aware that without them, these people would have been watching Parliament session in their home TV, like me)

10. Avoid speaking to the media. There is no need to ‘address the nation’ unnecessarily. (Comment – You said it Mr. PM, now on it will be difficult for Mr.Arnab to find people from BJP in his PRIME TIME WASTE programme)

11. Beware of Power brokers (Comment – indirectly he is telling not to ‘negotiate’ with people; the spy camera’s and spy pens are selling in highest numbers now-a-days; after Modi Sir’s lecture, one of the ministers is not allowing anyone to carry pen, pencil or notebook while entering his cabin; I have a suggestion for this Minister, he can install ‘x ray screening machine at his entrance door).

12. Prepare 100 day agenda (Comment – Mr.Modi; I am sure most of your MPs have starting sweating a lot, as such Delhi is burning with 47 degrees heat; on top of it with this dose of advice, they will certainly curse the people of their constituency for electing them!)

13. Come up with innovative ideas (Comment – Mr. Modi, come on, it is Parliament; is it IIT or IISc? Why are you troubling our MPs like this? Poor MPs have dreamt of enjoying their life for the next 5 years by relaxing in the government. You are giving them a test like CAT Entrance Exam, you are asking them to studyas if for IAS Exam, you are listing out what they have to do and what they shouldn’t do; come on Sir, no one dared to tell them anything so far in their life. Please be considerateMr. PM. Let them relax a bit!)

Friends, all the points mentioned by our PM is worth reading again and again (you needn’t read my comments given in brackets!).These directives or principles can be easily adopted in our profession, social or personal life, with a slight moderation.
Great Sir: I wish our MPs learn from your talk with all seriousness. This country needs, at least one full term (5 years) of serious governance.

Last Line: Forget about MP. Can we adopt these principles in our life? For having voted him to power, let’s do this, at least!
When you base your life on principles, 99% of your decisions are already made.
