What is the marriageable age in India?
As per Section 5 of the Hindu Marriage Act, the marriageable age for the bridegroom 21 years and for the bride it is 18 years.
Modi was born in 1950 and got engaged in 1963; married in 1968 (when he was 18 years); so, Modi’s is a child marriage.
Is their marriage void?
Marriage is voidable and not void. Marriage will become valid if no steps are taken by such “child” (in this case Modi or Jashodaben) seeking declaration or marriage as void. Hence, their marriage is valid as on date.

The Court held that the voter has the elementary right to know full particulars of a candidate who is to represent him in the Parliament/Assemblies.
